The Medomak House exists to be a gathering space for the people of the Waldoboro area and beyond to share and build community resilience. We envision it as a regenerative space with a focus on Art, Education and Good Conversation. Through meetings, gatherings and courses, programs will be offered in service of the vision to educate and empower persons to express more strongly and effectively their natural capacities to be creative, generous and kind. Space will be made available for meetings or courses by others who share a vision of strengthening beneficial community connections. Most programs will be offered in a gift economy model so that economic circumstances will not limit participation.
Work on the Medomak House is continuing as we prepare the property for future community use. Plans also include the development of a Community Garden, creating another welcoming space for people to gather, learn, grow, and connect. We look forward to sharing more updates as the house and garden projects move forward.

A community-led growing space
Our Community Garden’s raised beds are now home to a wide variety of vegetables that will continue growing and maturing throughout the summer. Several community members are helping tend the garden, with each bed featuring different plantings based on individual interests, experience, and what people were excited to grow.
Most of the plants were generously donated by Moose Crossing, with additional plants provided by members of the community. This first year is an opportunity to learn what grows well, experiment with different plantings, and continue shaping the garden into a welcoming space for people to gather, participate, and share knowledge.
We are grateful to everyone who has contributed plants, materials, time, and care to help bring the garden to life. We look forward to sharing more updates as the season continues and the Community Garden grows.
